Bulgarian Interior Ministry Equates Train Crash Damage to Natural Disaster
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The explosion occurred on Saturday after a freight train carrying tanks with propane-butane derailed in Hitrino. Following the accident, as a result of which 5 people were killed, evacuation of the whole village was announced, the Nova TV channel reported.

“On December 12, at 12:00 local time [10 a.m. GMT] an emergency meeting of the ministerial council will be held. At the meeting, the measures to eliminate the consequences of the incident on the Hitrino station will be considered,” the statement, posted on the government’s website, said Sunday.

There has been no information on the potential causes of the accident so far. Bulgaria's Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov compared the incident to the natural disaster.
