According to the Russian foreign minister, NATO is trying to "drag" Montenegro into its ranks before the end of US President Barack Obama's administration.

HAMBURG (Sputnik) — It seems that NATO is trying to "drag" Montenegro into its ranks before the end of US President Barack Obama's administration, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday.

"Now they [NATO] are frantically trying to drag Montenegro into its ranks. We see all the fuss about this process. Nobody asked the Montenegrin people… I have a feeling that now they are preparing to drag Montenegro in before the end of the mandate of the Obama administration," Lavrov told reporters following the OSCE Ministerial Council.
