Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz intends to file a lawsuit against the local Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper because of defamation, ministry’s spokesman Bartlomiej Misiewicz said Wednesday.

WARSAW (Sputnik) – On November 30, Gazeta Wyborcza reported that Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Grey lost his job because he concealed the fact that he cooperated with US special services.

The next day, the Polish Foreign Ministry refuted all alleged links between the firing of Grey and his reported cooperation with US intelligence.

"With regard to the false information systematically provided by Gazeta Wyborcza about the national defense minister and misinformation, aimed at defending Soviet government apparatus and Polish past, [I] inform that Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz will sue Gazeta Wyborcza," Misiewicz said, adding that the accusations of slander were primarily related to the text by Tomasz Piatek, published on November 30 among his other articles.
