    Finnish police has detained a 23-year-old suspect in a deadly shooting in the small southeastern town of Imatra not far from the border with Russia.

    MURMANSK (Russia), (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, police said that an unidentified man had shot dead three women near a restaurant in a nightlife district in Imatra.

    According to the Yle broadcaster, the suspected man used a hunting rifle to shoot the victims. The motives behind the crime are yet to be clarified.

    According to the broadcaster, when police received the alert, the officers were some 980 feet from the crime scene. Upon arriving at the site, the officers saw a crowd near the restaurant pointing at the suspect. The man reportedly surrendered to police without resistance.

    The victims reportedly include the chair of the City Council and two journalists.
