An explosion occurred in a fast food restaurant in the center of the Greek capital of Athens on Thursday, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the AMNA news agency, as a result of the incident one woman was killed and five people were injured. The explosion was followed by fire, which caused damage to nearby stores, residential buildings as well as vehicles and motorcycles parked nearby.

According to preliminary data, the blast was caused by a gas cylinder explosion, the media said.
