An alleged hacking attack on the Austrian Foreign Ministry's website took place on Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Austrian Foreign Ministry website was reportedly attacked by hackers from Turkey.

"We will not yield to such attacks. Austria is not going to change its position on Turkey," Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz said as quoted by Die Welt newspaper.

The attack reportedly took place on Friday.

Kurz is one of the harshest critics of the Turkish authorities. He welcomed the resolution of the European Parliament to suspend EU accession talks with Turkey amid massive purges in the country following the failed coup attempt.

In September, a group of Turkish hackers claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Vienna's international airport. The Austrian Interior Ministry is also investigating a similar attack on the central bank.
