UK Independence Party (UKIP) acting leader Nigel Farage could "do a great job" acting as the UK Ambassador to the United States and many people would like to see the Briton in the office, US President-elect Donald Trump said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Farage, who advocated for Brexit, welcomed the news of Trump's victory, calling them "two big political revolutions" of 2016. Similarly to the US Presidency vote many pollsters and bookmakers failed to predict the result of the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom in June.

"Many people would like to see @Nigel_Farage represent Great Britain as their Ambassador to the United States. He would do a great job!" Trump said on his Twitter account on Monday.

On November 8, Trump managed to come ahead of his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the US presidential elections, securing at least 290 electoral votes despite most of the analysts and opinion polls predicting his defeat. Trump's inauguration will be held on January 20, 2017.
