UK Mobile Network Hack Puts Private Data of Millions of People at Risk

The personal data of millions of people could be at risk as a result of a successful hacking attack on the UK Three mobile service, local media report.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The telecommunications provider admitted that a security breach did take place on Thursday, but did not release any numbers of the possible customers affected, The Telegraph said.

Sources familiar with the hack told the newspaper that the personal data, such as names, phone numbers and addresses, of two thirds of the customers (about six million) could be at risk.

The hackers used an employee login to access the system.

Three people have reportedly been arrested in connection with the Three mobile network breach.
