KIEV (Sputnik) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission is completing its work in Ukraine and will make a statement in the coming day on the negotiations with the country’s authorities, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Oleg Churiy said on Thursday.
“In the coming days the International Monetary Fund will issue a statement on completing the mission’s work,” Churiy said as quoted by the UNIAN news agency.
The mission started its work in Ukraine on November 3. On the basis of the results of its work, the IMF will decide whether to allocate the fourth tranche of up to $1.3 billion of financial aid to Kiev till the end of the year.
Churiy admitted that the IMF could decide to postpone allocation of funds to the next year.

On March 11, 2015, the IMF approved a four-year program of financial aid to Ukraine, which stipulates a $17.5-billion loan to be paid out in a number of installments over the next four years and originally open for reviewing on a quarterly basis.
Ukraine heavily relies on foreign aid to support its economy and to pay debts amid the ongoing armed conflict with independence supporters in the country's southeast.
