MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The charges of using banned means and methods of warfare under the Russian Criminal Code were also brought against the commanders of the 44th Artillery Brigade, Col. Oleh Lisovom, and of the Southern Operational Command, Maj. Gen. Andriy Grishchenko.
"As part of the investigation of criminal cases, charges in absentia… were brought against commanders of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade, Col. Viktor Nikolyuk, and of the 72nd Kiev Mechanized Brigade, Col. Andriy Sokolov," Svetlana Petrenko said.
In February 2015, Kiev forces and Donbass independence supporters signed a peace agreement in the Belarusian capital of Minsk. The deal stipulates a full ceasefire, weapons withdrawal from the line of contact in eastern Ukraine, as well as constitutional reforms that would give a special status to the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Despite the agreement, the ceasefire regime is regularly violated, with both sides accusing each other of multiple breaches, undermining the terms of the accord.
