PARIS (Sputnik) – In contrast to Juppe, France’s former leader Nicolas Sarkozy was called most convincing by 24 percent of the over 980 viewers surveyed by Elabe at the request of BFMTV.
Sarkozy took the lead over Juppe in this second round of debates aired by BFMTV on Thursday, with 31 percent against 28. In the first round held in October, Juppe was leading with 32 percent against Sarkozy’s 27.
Aside from Juppe and Sarkozy, five other candidates from France’s right-wing parties have been registered for the primaries, which will be held on November 20-27.
The first round of the French presidential elections is scheduled for April 23, 2017.
