UK Companies to List All Foreign Workers| Is UN Sec Gen Vote Truly Transparent?
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced Thursday that she would support those companies that were determined to ignore the governmental initiative to urge the businesses to reveal the information on the quantity of the foreign workers they hire.

Sturgeon said at the First Minister's Questions in the Scottish Parliament she "would absolutely stand full-square beside any company that refused to comply with any request to publish details of foreign workers."

The first minister stressed that, particularly, she did not like the idea of naming and shaming companies for employing foreign workers, adding that workers should be valued by their contribution, not by their place of birth.

On Tuesday, at the Conservative Party's conference in Birmingham, UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd introduced a proposal on how to cut levels of immigration, including such measures as threatening landlords and employees, allegedly aimed at encouraging the businesses to employ native-born citizens.
