Rafale Deal Means Recognition of Competitiveness of French Aviation Industry
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this month, the ship left the port of Toulon to take a position in eastern Mediterranean. The ship is carrying 24 Rafale jets. The ship deployment is the third time Charles de Gaulle is on combat duty as part of the anti-IS operations.

According to the BFMTV broadcaster, the Rafale jets are targeting Daesh positions in Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city that has been under Daesh control since 2014.

France is a part of the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group, outlawed in many countries including the United States and Russia.
