Kiev Believes Deal to Withdraw Forces Can Expand Along Contact Line

Ukraine hopes that the withdrawal of forces at the first three locations along the contact line to the country’s east expands along the entirety of the line, the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group said Wednesday.

KIEV (Sputnik) – Leonid Kuchma’s spokeswoman Darya Olifer announced on Facebook that the sides to the conflict signed a framework agreement on the withdrawal at three sites. A source inside the Contact Group told RIA Novosti earlier that the two-page agreement enters into force immediately after signing.

"Ukraine believes that, in the course of implementing this framework agreement, approaches can be worked out for a possible disengagement of forces and equipment along the entire line of contact," Olifer said.
