If you watch the videos, created by Oliver Astrologo, you won't have the heart to call them amateur — the quality of his filming is equal to, or even better, than many professional films.

Oliver uses a varied combination of creative and artistic skills in his video production technique.

"I wouldn't consider myself a professional filmmaker. However, since I was a teenager I have been using all sorts of cameras to express my creativity. Looking at other artists and mastering different techniques enabled me to deliver better material," he explained.

According to Oliver, most travel films follow the same bland recipe and lack warmth, spurring him to try his hand at make a more interesting version.

"I love my country and I thought that I should start to apply my new perspective to those Italian places I love. It is essential that the final output triggers new emotions and let the viewers discover places they were not really aware of. For example, my latest production uncovers the hidden life of the venetian artisans that have been carrying on the traditions for centuries."

Oliver works on his film both alone and with a small crew. The trickiest thing is to catch the moment when the chosen locations, especially such popular ones as Venice or Rome, are not overcrowded, he said.

"The solution is to film very early in the morning, when the majority of people are still asleep," the filmmaker said.

He also revealed his plans to continue making travel films. Maybe, one day some Russian destinations will appear in Oliver's videos.

"I am currently editing a video on Mexico and another one on Cuba. Hopefully, they will be released by the end of 2016. I'm also working on few interesting projects that could see the light of day pretty soon. At the same time I keep reading and looking at new territories. I must admit that I find Russia an intriguing place, where I could express my creativity at my best!" the filmmaker noted.

All Oliver's videos and photographs can be found on his social media channels: Instagram, Facebook and Vimeo.
