French President Francois Hollande landed in Romania early on Tuesday for an official visit, the president’s office said, just days before EU leaders meet for a post-Brexit summit.

Germany, Romania to Fly Mission Over Russia, Belarus

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the president’s website, Hollande will meet his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos.

"Hollande has arrived in Bucharest for the first state visit in almost 20 years," the Elysee Palace said in a Twitter posting.

This visit is expected to reinforce the historical partnership between the two nations and pave the way for Friday's summit of heads of state or government from 27 remaining EU nations in Bratislava, Slovakia.
