MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Residents of eastern Ukraine filed over 2,700 complaints with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) against leadership in Kiev, nearly 2,000 of which have been accepted, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said Thursday.
"According to our data, at the moment the victims have already submitted 2,722 complaints to the European Court of Human rights in Strasbourg against the actions of top military and political leadership in Ukraine. The amount of the claimed compensation exceeds 120 million euros ($135.5 million)," Markin said.
The ECtHR has accepted more than 1,970 complaints for review, he added.
