French ctizens do not favour government`s Muslim full-body burkini swimwear ban and proceed to file lawsuits against it.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Four more appeals against the French Muslim full-body burkini swimwear bans have been submitted to courts in two French Riviera cities, media reported Monday.

Appeals were submitted to the Nice administrative court and were directed against the burkini bans by the local authorities in Mediterranean coastal communes of Nice, Menton and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) lawyer Sefen Guez Guez told the the BFM TV channel.

Another appeal was submitted to the Toulon administrative court against the ban in the Frejus commune, he added.

The appeals come after Friday's Council of State ruling which suspended the Villeneuve-Loubet mayor's decision to ban burkinis from the town's beaches. The ruling followed an appeal by the French Human Rights League.

Earlier this summer, burkinis were banned from municipal beaches in 15 French towns, including Nice, which suffered from a terrorist attack in July that killed 84 people.
