A pensioner from Ryazan visited London to celebrate the jubilee of British Queen Elizabeth II.

The 80-year-old Russian lady brought cakes, jam and homemade pickles, as well as a hand-written portrait of the British ruler to Buckingham Palace.

“It was a week-long trip to London. The cost was 50,000 rubles (780 USD) per person. Her tour was not able to meet the Queen, but all her gifts were delivered straight to the palace. In response, the Russian woman received a card, saying that the Queen was touched and flattered,” said the head of the United Kingdom and Ireland tour Elena Gorokhov.

On April 21, Elizabeth II celebrated her 90th birthday. The Queen is the oldest British monarch and the most elderly woman among state leaders.

On September 9, 2015, Elizabeth established an record for her stay on the British throne, beating her great-grandmother Victoria.
