    Teenage Girl Injured in Swiss Train Attack Remains in Critical Conditions

    A 17-year-old teenage girl, injured in an attack on a train in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen, remains in a critical condition, local media reported Monday.

    GENEVA (Sputnik) — On Saturday, a 27-year old Swiss national used a knife and set a flammable liquid on fire on a train, injuring seven people. According to local police, one of the victims of the attack as well as its perpetrator later died.

    The teenager who is in a critical condition, a 43-years old woman and a 6-year old girl are currently in a hospital, the Swiss newspaper 24 Heures said, citing a spokesman for the St. Gallen police service, Hans Peter Kruesi.

    The motives for the attack are still unknown. According to the Swiss law enforcement agencies, the perpetrator acted alone and there was no indication that he had any links to terrorist groups.

    The Swiss railway company Sudostbahn on Monday announced plans to undertake an audit of its security system.
