    The attacker, who assaulted two policemen with machete in the Belgian city of Charleroi, died in hospital, according to local media.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The man who attacked police officers in the Belgian city of Charleroi with a machete on Saturday died in hospital, the local RTBF broadcaster reported.

    The attacker is said to have been shot by police earlier in the day after wounding two officers.

    The police, said the attacker cried "Allahu Akbar" during the assault.

    According to the Belgian Derniere Heure newspaper, one of the police officers sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while the other was slightly wounded.
