PARIS (Sputnik) — A refugee from Afghanistan, wanted by French police for the past four days, was detained in France on Friday, media reported.
The refugee, who had lived in Paris for two months, was suspected of plotting a terrorist attack, the France Info broadcaster reported.
He was detained in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, located to the north of the city, the media outlet added.
France has recently fallen victim to two terror attacks, responsibility for which has been claimed by Islamic State, outlawed in many countries worldwide including Russia. On July 14, a truck rammed into a large crowd celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, killing at least 84 people. On July 26, two armed men took five people hostage at a church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, Normandy, killing a priest.
