MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Following the deadly truck attack in Nice during the celebrations of the July 14 Bastille Day, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve called on the mayors of French cities to cancel any events if not certain about being able to guarantee security.
According to The Local news outlet, Marseille authorities, after talks with police, decided this week to cancel the popular air show, scheduled for August 13.
Mayor of the town of La Baule in Brittany Yves Metaireau reportedly said that he did not want to take any risks with regard to security of his public or officials and therefore canceled the fireworks, planned for August 15.
