    Two men armed with knives took several hostages in a church in France's Normandy.

    ​The correspondent of the RTL Frederic Veille reported that between four and six people were being held in a church of Saint Etienne du Rouvray in the northern Normandy region.

    ​Police and troops arrived at the scene immediately after hostage situation was reported.

    Two men have kidnapped the priest, two nuns and several worshipers.

    The reasons behind the attack is not clear yet.

    Two attackers were killed by police during the assault, French media report. The priest of the church was murdered.

    ​The hostages were released.
