"The UN Security Council condemns the dastardly terrorist attack that occurred in Nice in France in the evening of the 14 of July, the French National Day. I wish also to express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims, my deepest sympathy to the injured and our strong solidarity with the people of France," UN Security Council President Koro Bessho said Friday.
On Thursday night, a truck plowed into a crowd of people watching fireworks during a Bastille Day celebration in Nice, France, killing at least 84 people and injuring dozens of others.
According to identification documents found inside the truck, the driver was a 31-year-old of Tunisian origin who lived in Nice. No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the terrorist attack in Nice.
