The Estonian Foreign Ministry confirmed to Sputnik on Friday that three nationals had been injured in a deadly truck attack in Nice.

TALLINN (Sputnik) — On Thursday night, a truck rammed into a large crowd that was celebrating Bastille Day in Nice, France. At least 84 people, including children, were killed and dozens of others were injured.

"Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is notified that three citizens of our country have become victims of a terrorist act in Nice on Thursday night and that there are more than 100 Estonian citizens in the Nice region who are all right," Media Adviser of the ministry Sandra Kamilova said.

Kamilova added that the condition of those injured remained unknown, as well as the date when they will be back to Estonia.

The truck driver was shot dead by police. According to identification documents found inside the truck, the driver was a 31-year-old male resident of Nice of Tunisian origin. It is unclear whether he had any accomplices.
