MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Thursday night, a truck rammed into a large crowd during Bastille Day celebrations in the French Riviera city. Some 84 people were killed in the attack, dozens more injured.
The driver was a 31-year-old French national of Tunisian origin. According to reports, the attacker was previously known to French police, however, for nothing more serious than small crimes and was never investigated by intelligence.
President Francois Hollande described the tragedy as an "undeniable" terrorist attack.
