    Hercules C-130 Aircraft Crashes at Military Base in Portugal Killing 3

    The Hercules C-130 military transport aircraft crashed on Monday during takeoff at the Portuguese Montijo military airport, local media said.

    MADRID (Sputnik) According to the Publico news portal, three people were killed and four sustained injuries. There were reportedly seven people on board.

    Ambulances and firefighters have been immediately dispatched to the crash area. The causes of the tragic incident are being looked into.

    The C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft that can take off and land carrying heavy payloads on unprepared runways. The aircraft is also used for airborne assaults and aerial refueling.
