    Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that NATO's activities did not enhance security of its members, but provoked tensions in Europe instead.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — NATO's position aimed at expansion is a proof of an aggressive nature of the alliance, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.

    "It is hard to say what is NATO's role in containment. We keep saying…that NATO's expansion line, NATO's expansionist policy once again highlights the aggressive nature of this organization," Peskov told reporters.

    He added that NATO's activities did not enhance security of its members, but provoked tensions in Europe instead.
