TALLINN (Sputnik) Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roivas will hold on Monday an emergency government meeting to discuss the post-referendum consequences of the UK decision to leave the European Union, the Estonian government's press service said.

"Consequences of the referendum on UK membership in the EU will be discussed. The government members also intend to coordinate Estonian positions before the European Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, where the United Kingdom's Brexit referendum will be key topic of discussion as well," the press service said in a statement.

On June 23, the United Kingdom held a referendum to determine whether or not the country should leave the European Union, with over 50 percent of the UK public voting in support of Brexit. Following the vote, UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced his resignation in October.
