"A representative of the consulate general visited the sentenced Russians. They all are in one cell. Their rights are not violated. Now it is necessary to fulfill some formal procedures and they will have communication… Everything is in line with the law; they submitted no grievances and complaints," Molchanov said.
He added that they can be settled in different cells later.
On Thursday, a French court sentenced three Russian nationals to prison terms ranging from one to two years over their role in the violence that unfolded in Marseille at the Euro 2016 football tournament.
On June 11, at least 30 people were injured in clashes between Russia and England fans in the French city. Following the incident, 20 Russian fans were placed in a deportation center.
