Scandinavian Airlines' (SAS) pilots have agreed to end a five-day strike that affected nearly 100,000 passengers, media reported Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The SAS management and the pilot's union reportedly struck a deal on a 2.2-percent wage hike, though the pilots were previously demanding a 3.5-percent increase in salaries.

"I really regret that so many customers have been affected by this strike," SAS chief executive Rickard Gustafsson was quoted as saying by The Local news outlet.

The strike had reportedly led to around 1,000 flight cancellations, costing at least $1.2 million a day.

The pilots launched the strike on June 10. It has significantly affected air traffic in Stockholm and Copenhagen airports.
