Earlier in the day, Duda held consultations with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini in Warsaw.
"We also discussed EU-Russia relations… The case is based on observance of international law and should be considered in this context. Implementation of the Minsk agreements, normalization of situation in Ukraine, restoration of Ukrainian control over its borders have key importance," Duda said, as quoted by TVN broadcaster.
The Polish president added that reconciliation process in Ukraine determined sanction policy toward Russia.
In 2014, Moscow and Brussels split due to disagreements over the situation in Ukraine, after Crimea decided by public vote to secede from Ukraine and rejoin Russia. As Brussels imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia, Moscow stroke back banning food export from the countries which supported anti-Russian policy.
Kiev, Brussels and Washington blame Moscow for intervention in Ukrainian domestic matters. Russia has repeatedly denied any allegations regarding conflict in eastern Ukraine.
