MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Turkish-born aircraft cleaner has been working in two Berlin airports for 10 months despite proved connections to an Islamic fundamentalist group, local media reported on Wednesday.
The man has been in close contact with extremists, Berliner Morgenpost newspaper reported. German police shared their findings with the General Aviation Safety Authority for Berlin and Brandenburg in late 2014 with no consequences for the man.
He was reportedly fired in October 2015 for reasons not related to his Salafist connections when he tried to smuggle brass knuckles to the airport.
Earlier this year it has been revealed that one of the terrorists behind the Brussels Airport bombings that took place in late March had worked as a cleaner at European Parliament.
