MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Lawmakers form Russia, Germany and the United States started their meeting in Berlin on Sunday with a discussion of the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Deputy Duma Speaker Alexander Romanovich said.

"The meeting has started…Ten representatives of the US Congress, ten of us — the Russian lawmakers, and ten representatives from Germany. Right now, we are discussing the Ukrainian crisis," Romanovich, who is present at the meeting, told RIA Novosti over the phone.

Kiev authorities launched a military operation against independence militias in Eastern Ukraine in April 2014. Mariupol was one of the cities disputed by the parties of the conflict. The confrontation has claimed over 9,000 lives, according to the UN estimates.
