MINSK (Sputnik) — Belarus will host a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) in 2017, the chairman of the lower house of Belarusian parliament said on Saturday.
"A week ago, a meeting of the Bureau of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held, and the members decided to hold a meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Belarus on July 5-9, 2017," Vladimir Andreichenko was quoted by state news agency Belta as saying.
He stressed that Belarusian lawmakers will continue to pursue a "multitrack" policy regarding international cooperation "with the North and South, the West and the East."
The 2016 OSCE PA Annual Session took place in Helsinki July 5-9. The meeting commemorated the OSCE's founding document, the Helsinki Final Act, signed in the Finnish capital in 1975.
