As shown in a video that appeared on the web, the owner of a restaurant in Champ-du-Boult, a little village in the Calvados area of Normandy, was assaulted by an armed robber just as she was holding a customer’s newborn baby on Friday night.
As the man pointed a gun at her face demanding money, the woman walked in front of the gun-toting intruder while holding the baby and raised her hand to his face, The Local wrote.
Handing the infant to the stunned parents, the woman fought off the robber with the help of another customer.
"You're not in a bank here, it's stupid! Stop pointing that gun at me," she yelled.
Two shots were fired during the ensuing fracas but no one was hurt as the bullets were blank.
The robber ran off to his scooter and fled the scene. He returned minutes later only to be arrested by police summoned to the scene.
