Russian, CIS Detainees in Montenegro to Leave Country Until March 28

At least 55 citizens from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Russia who were detained in Montenegro must leave the country until March 28, the Russian embassy in Montenegro said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the spokesperson, "no charges have been brought against them and all of them were released."

"These citizens must leave Montenegro till March 28, some people have already left, the rest will leave tomorrow," a Russian embassy spokesperson told RIA Novosti.

On Saturday, the local RTCG broadcaster reported that Montenegrin police had questioned more than 50 Russian citizens detained in a raid against organized crime. The detentions took place at hotels in Danilovgrad and Podgorica.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the stay of the 55 citizens of Russia and the CIS had not been officially registered.
