Russia Clarifies Circumstances of Its Citizens' Arrests in Montenegro
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Stay of 55 citizens from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Russia who were detained in Montenegro has not been officially registered, they will be deported soon, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

"Taking into account the fact that the stay of foreign citizens in Montenegro had not been registered in accordance with standard procedures, they must soon be expelled from the country," the statement said.

The ministry added that the Russian Embassy in Montenegro was in constant contact with local authorities to ensure the rights of the detained are respected.

Earlier in the day, the RTCG broadcaster reported Montenegrin police had questioned more than 50 Russian citizens detained in a raid against organized crime.
