MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The security officer was murdered in the city of Charleroi on Thursday night when he was walking his dog. His access badge was stolen, but deactivated shortly after the crime.
According to the Belga news agency citing the Charleroi prosecutor's office, the case has no connection with a planned terror attack.
On Tuesday, two suicide attacks took place at the Brussels Airport departure hall in the northeastern municipality of Zaventem and another explosion occurred at the Maelbeek station near EU institutions. At least 31 people were killed and 316 were injured in the attacks.
Earlier this week, the newspaper reported that the nuclear power plants in the country were the original targets for the attacks.
