Tuesday's attacks in Brussels are unlikely to have any conneсtion with those in Paris happened earlier.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — Tuesday's attacks in Brussels are unlikely to be tied to the recent arrest of Salah Abdeslam, suspected of involvement in the November 2015 Paris attacks, Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said Wednesday.

Abdeslam was arrested last week in the Belgian capital.

"I don't think it would have been possible to organize such an attack in two-three days, after [the arrest] Friday. It could have sped up the attacks," Jambon said in an interview broadcast by RTBF.

On Tuesday, at least 34 people were killed and some 230 injured in explosions at the Brussels Zaventem airport and an in the city’s metro.

The Islamic State jihadist group, outlawed in many countries including the United States and Russia, has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The same group has said it was responsible for the November attacks in the French capital, in which 130 people were killed and over 350 injured.
