MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Dutch police arrested three people at the Amsterdam central train station after firing warning shots, as the security measures in the Netherlands have been boosted in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, the police said Tuesday.
"After pursuit, a warning shot was fired by police… No injuries. Three people arrested. More info soon," Amsterdam police said on its Twitter account.
Earlier in the day, a series of blasts hit Brussels' Zaventem airport and a city metro station, killing at least 34 people and injuring around 230. The Belgian authorities are treating the explosions as part of a coordinated terrorist attack.
The Netherlands boosted security at major train stations and airports, with Prime Minister Mark Rutte calling on Dutch citizens to reconsider travelling to Belgium.
