    The streets of the Belgian capital are being patrolled by 200 additional servicemen after the explosions in a Brussels airport and metro earlier on Tuesday.

    BRUSSELS (Sputnik) The streets of the Belgian capital are being patrolled by 200 additional servicemen after the explosions in a Brussels airport and metro earlier on Tuesday.

    The explosions at the airport killed at least 13 people and injured 35, according to the prosecutor's office in Brussels. The blasts at Maalbeek metro station in Brussels city center reportedly claimed the lives of at least 15 people and injured 55.

    Following the blasts, security measures were stepped up all over Belgium, including at border with France and reportedly at nuclear sites.
