A Kalashinkov automatic rifle has been recovered inside a Brussels Airport departure hall where two blasts took the lives of up to 28 people, the Belgian RTBF broadcaster reported Tuesday.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – The official death toll in the northeastern Brussels municipality of Zaventem stands at 15 people.

Witnesses reported hearing Arabic shouting and shots fired ahead of the deadly blasts, one of which the Belgian federal prosecutor said was "possibly" a suicide attack.

A third explosion rocked the Malbeek subway station in central Brussels half an hour after the initial blast.
