Two explosions hit Brussels's Zaventem airport earlier in the day. The explosions killed 13 people and injured 35, according to the prosecutor's office in Brussels. Shortly after the blasts at the airport, explosions were also reported at Maalbeek metro station in Brussels city center, which reportedly claimed the lives of at least 15 people and left 10 in critical condition.

"All the Czech security services are on high alert in light of the bombings in Belgium," Chovanec wrote on his Twitter account.

However, according to the minister, there is no information about a possible terrorist threat in the Czech Republic at the moment.

Later on Tuesday, a meeting will be held between Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and the heads of the country's national security services and Interior Ministry.
