George Osborne announced on Wednesday major tax cuts for the oil and gas industry.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced on Wednesday major tax cuts for the oil and gas industry, stressing that the petroleum revenue tax would be effectively abolished.

"We are only able to provide this kind of support to our oil and gas industry because of the broad shoulders of the United Kingdom," Osborne said.
