BERLIN (Sputnik) — On Thursday, in Clausnitz, which is located about 40 kilometers (24,8 miles) from Dresden, about 100 people blocked the bus transporting refugees to a shelter.
The police used excessive force to bring the passengers from the bus as they were afraid to leave the vehicle. The refugees were finally safely delivered to the shelter.
"The chancellor and the federal government condemn and regard actions in Clausnitz as deeply shameful," Seibert said at a briefing.
Germany is the main destination for the majority of asylum seekers who are fleeing conflicts in Syria and other conflict-torn regions of the Middle East and North Africa.
