BERLIN (Sputnik) German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault will fly together to Kiev on February 22 to get a better picture of the political situation in Ukraine, German Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Schaeffer said Friday.

“Steinmeier and Ayrault will meet in Berlin at the airport…then they will both fly together to Kiev. This is about them getting a picture of the complex political situation in the country together and speak with representatives from the country’s leadership, with the president, the prime minister, the head of the foreign ministry, and the leaders of political party leaders represented in [the parliament],” Schaeffer told journalists.
