According to NBC News, one of the detained men lives in the North Rhine-Westphalia and has undergone militarily training in Syria.

The second Algerian was arrested for having falsified identification documents.

It was noted that during the raids a woman, who had been wanted in connection to another case, was also arrested.

Germany, which is part of the international coalition operating in Syria and Iraq, has not been targeted by Islamist terrorists to date. It has enhanced its security measures and conducted several anti-terror raids in the wake of the Paris attacks that killed 130 people in mid-November.
