DAVOS (Sputnik) — The current security situation in eastern Ukraine does not allow to begin implementing the political stage of the Minsk agreements, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told Sputnik on Thursday.
"We have information that during the last week, 21 times the special monitoring mission of the OSCE was rejected by Russians for the inspection. And unfortunately we have very severe shelling still existing. So the security condition is not created to launch the political stage, unfortunately. And we tried to do our best to reach it," Poroshenko said.
"Unfortunately not," Poroshenko said, asked whether any improvement was being noted in the Minsk peace process.
